History

Spanish Abroad Mexico is owned and operated by Faruk and Jamie.

Faruk is originally from Cuernavaca, Mexico, whose family has been welcoming students interested in learning the Spanish language from around the world since 2001. Jamie, a Dallas born native, met Faruk as one of those students while staying with his family during her senior year in college.

Faruk and Jamie fell in love and immediately following Jamie's college graduation, Faruk moved to Dallas, TX to get married. Since then they have had two beautiful sons and plan for both boys to be bilingual by Speaking Spanish at home and visiting Cuernavaca, Mexico frequently to see Faruk's family.

Following Faruk and Jamie's marriage, Faruk landed a wonderful position in the hotel industry and has since learned the ins and outs of the travel business and the importance of knowing Spanish in the workplace. Jamie has taught high school Spanish and now teaches an all Spanish speaking kindergarten bilingual class.

Due to Faruk and Jamie's love for Mexico and the Spanish language, Spanish Abroad Mexico was formed. Both Faruk and Jamie support the love of the Mexican culture and language through complete language immersion by living with a Mexican host family and attending a Spanish language school in Cuernavaca, Mexico.
